The "Pilgrimage" CD
features pianist Mary Kay Kapustka and baritone John Reschl
in stunning renditions
of the 11 pieces
contained therein. Ms. Kapustka's pianistic prowess is
crisp and clean (as Liszt would want!). She possesses an
expressive
and sensitive tone when called for, and she ably meets
the bravura Lisztian demands. Mr. Reschl's rich and sonorous
voice
is perfectly suited to the alternating majesty and pathos
that prevails throughout the Pilgrimage. The musical rapport
between
these two sublime artists is a marvel to hear.
